I like the ⅞ length because it shows off a bit of ankle and helps to keep me cooler when working out. The leggings demonstrated how breathable they are when I wore them for a weights session at the gym and stayed comfortable throughout.(Image credit: My Protein)MP Women’s Velocity Ultra LeggingsBest valueReasons to buy+Thick, high-quality fabric +Stay up no matter the workout+Good valueReasons to avoid-Some may not like the ankle zipsMyprotein’s MP brand always seems to offer high-quality kit at more affordable prices than others. These Velocity Ultra leggings are no exception. They’re comfortable and squat-proof, they stay up and there’s zero camel toe. The side pocket on the leg is great for holding a phone as you exercise, and the fabric feels really soft against the skin. It’s also thick, making these ideal for colder weather. There are zips at the bottom of each leg, which I did initially think would be annoying, but I actually didn’t notice them at all while exercising. (Image credit: Lululemon)Lululemon AlignBest for low-impact exerciseReasons to buy+Super-soft+Sit high on waist without digging in+Inclusive size rangeLululemon undoubtedly makes some of the best leggings on the market. The price is steep but they’re soft and breathable, they fit well, the waistband never digs in and importantly, they wash well, so you’ll be wearing them for years to come. The Align leggings are made specifically for lower-impact exercise. I wore them for an upper-body day at the gym and they stayed put, offering maximum comfort, while the high waist kept everything tucked in. These comfy leggings have four-way stretch, and I’d even go so far as to say they feel weightless. The hidden waistband pocket fits keys or a card.(Image credit: New Balance)New Balance Relentless Crossover Printed High Rise 7/8 TightBest loud print leggingsReasons to buy+Good value+Very flattering+Inclusive size rangeReasons to avoid-Printed styles aren’t to everyone’s taste A loud pair of leggings might not be to everyone’s taste, but if you like a print, then definitely give these a try. They’re super-flattering and the waistband is thick, with a slight V shape that helps to offer greater waist definition. The fast-drying fabric helps you stay cool and dry, and during the sweatiest sweaty gym workouts the print design helps to disguise any sweat patches as well as underwear lines. The fabric feels soft and doesn’t move too much during a workout. I found these to be excellent value and they matched up to the high quality I’ve come to expect from New Balance.(Image credit: Asics )Asics Nagino Run Tight Best for taller women Reasons to buy+Long leg length +Breathable fabricReasons to avoid-Shows sweat-Not much give in the waistbandThese Asics leggings are ideal for those with long legs—you can be assured you won’t have a couple of inches of ankle showing. I found these tights a little tricky to get on because the waistband doesn’t offer much give but when I did eventually get them on, I struggled to find any real flaws. The holes on the calf offer great breathability, and the handy side pockets are perfect for your phone, keys or cash. The leggings fit well and I found them flattering around the butt. There was a bit of sagging around the crotch but this wasn’t much of an issue. The high waistband is supportive and sweat-resistant, and comes with a drawstring tie cord for extra security. The fabric is made with at least 50% recycled materials, too.(Image credit: Columbia)Columbia Women’s Windgates High-Rise LeggingsBest for colder days Reasons to buy+Thick fabric is warm but breathable+Flattering high-rise waist+Handy pocketsIf you’re looking for a pair of leggings that will keep you warm during chilly winter workouts, these are ideal because they’re much thicker than other leggings and offer more warmth.
