Pre-Zumba® lobby activities start at 6:30 followed by the workout at 7:30 p.m. A wine tasting, smotthies and gluten-free goodies from Nature’s Temptations, hair chalking demos and make-up tips from Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, jewelry, fashions and more will provide renewal for the fall. The Playhouse welcomes all women who are involved in fitness or who are looking for a way to make time for it and take control of their health. People who attend can participate or simply watch and learn. This event is underwritten by The Gym, partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa and Urgent Care of Connecticut and is part of HamletHub’s “A Whole New You” series, with media sponsor Star 99.9fm.
Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages, typically held on the last Wednesday in September. This unique national program — with participation by local organizations throughout the U.S. — focuses attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. On Wednesday, September 25, more than 1,000 groups across the country will host women’s health and fitness events at senior centers, hospitals, health clubs, park and recreation districts, local health and service organizations, schools, retirement communities, houses of worship, and other locations.
Allison Stockel, Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse, is committed to bringing women’s health and fitness to the center stage of the town’s performing arts center. “With daily demands pulling women in all directions, carving out time for regular physical activity is challenging, but the popular Zumba® workout, said by some to be addictive, is a great energy-boosting option,” explains Ms. Stockel.
